REUBEN ABATI DEBUNKS CLAIMS OF EBOLA VIRUS SCREENING FOR NIGERIAN DELEGATION IN USA.

Some hours ago, many news site claimed that the US is planning to screen a delegation from Nigeria including President Goodluck Jonathan for the Ebola Virus as they arrive for the African/American Leaders Summit today.

Well, the claims which has since been generating a lot of reactions from Nigerians we have gathered is untrue. The summit which is billed to take place in Washington DC is expected to have many world leaders in attendance and according to Reuters, President Obama said it was necessary to test African participants for the Ebola virus so as to be sure of not aiding the spread of the deadly virus.

However a Nigerian, who wanted to be sure of the claims, took to twitter to ask Reuben Abati, who is the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, asking if the news was true.

Reuben Abati however debunked it tweeting in reply; “Nobody took Ebola test pls”
It would be recalled that a Liberian with the Ebola Virus died in Nigeria recently but it has been reported that every Nigerian who had contacts with the dead Liberian before his death have been quarantined and tested for the Ebola disease and none was found with any of the symptoms associated with the deadly Virus that has killed many in some African countries.
