FRESH ATTACK IN TARABA STATE AS 20 GOT KILLED AND 85 INJURED.
More than 20 people were reportedly killed, 85 injured and 50 houses destroyed in Nbishu and Wumban villages of Wukari local government area of Taraba State when unknown gunmen attacked the villages.
Mr Jeshua Maude One of the residents of Wumban village, who spoke to newsmen , said that some unidentified gunmen who were over 60 in number attacked the two villages, about 3:25am on Friday and Sunday mornings and engaged in shooting and burning of houses. He noted that over 20 people were killed by the invaders.
He also added that two dispensaries and two churches were equally burnt down by the attackers.ASP Joseph Kwaji, the spokesman of the state Police Command, told LEADERSHIP When contacted on phone, that only 13 people were killed by the attackers in Nbishi and Wumba villages.
Kwaji informed that the attackers were said to have come from Ibi and Bantaji in Wukari local government area of the state.
He noted that the Command had since on Sunday sent its men to the affected villages to restore peace to the area while investigation into the matter continues.
